Notes: Uncle Jeff was on R&R somewhere within the barren rocks of Utah... no doubt tipping back a bottle of the devils nectar while enjoying a red sunset. Meanwhile the show went on... studio conditions resembled a Mexican desert, ie HOT, but did not slow the pace.

Let me make it clear that tonight's Route 78 West saga was in no way rehearsed or previously scripted on the back of a cocktail napkin. Guest DJ's Danny and Doc Martin came well prepared for the show. Loki ran the boards while Danny and Doc vied for musical positioning. All the usual formats, Country, Honky Tonk, Alt, Surf and even some Bluegrass, made an appearance. Jeff will have to catch up with the 70's genre next week.

The show led off with a series of Carter Family traks in memory of the passing of June Carter Cash. A few interesting Spade Cooley numbers and some rare traks like "Chopped Nash" by "Mr. Gasser and The Weirdos" had listeners calling with questions, et cetera. The show included a traditional Spaghetti Western and new material by Gillian Welch. Loki even risked tasting some Dwight Yoakam and liked what he heard. This show had something for everyone. Let us know if you disagree.

We quickly moved to Tom's Tavern for the post show. Cool drinks and tasty dinners comforted our heat riddled souls. See you next week.
